Painting has always been my first love. Early on in my career as an artist I made a point of having separate income outside of art. There are easier ways of making money than selling art. Always having a side hustle allowed me to make weird and crazy art withouthout worrying about whether people would buy it. I never cared. In retrospect I think this was really important. Keep it weird.
The Struggle
When I was a kid I threw out most of my drawings.To this day I feel little to no attachment to what I make. Despite this I feel a strong motivation to create. I often feel a channeling of sorts running through me. It's like everything I have experienced is there as reference for some primitive force that feeds my intuition. The paintings are an attempt at articulating these artistic instincts.
